November. Ahh. Just typing that word sends chills down my spine.

Why, you ask? Because I turn 1 year older at this time of the year. Incidentally, it means starting this year my age will be greater than the number of days there are in a month. Yikes.

But like someone wise (and I don’t really remember who so don’t ask) said, “It’s better to grow old and celebrate your birthdays. Consider the alternative.” Well said, dude. Well said.

So now that I’m turning that much older,
I think a birthday wish list is in order.
(Ooo look at me, I can rhyme!)

In case, you know, some generous, loving, kind-hearted, soul out there is just thinking to him/herself, “Hmm, I wonder what Cyrene would like for her birthday this year?” Well. Think no more! Here are some gift ideas I’ve put together so you don’t have to stress yourself out trying to come up with what to get me. (You’re welcome. I’m thoughtful like that.)

Ever since I set my eyes on these beauties, I’ve never been able to get them out of my mind. I’ve been looking for something like them here in the Philippines – no such luck. Either one of these are swoon-worthy.

I love books. I love to read. And for me there’s nothing like the smell of a brand new book, or even better, an OLD book. That said, I may or may not have a hundred (quite possibly more) ebooks waiting to be read. But if you’re like me, and have been sitting in front of the computer all day a lot, getting updated on Facebook, Twitter, blogland (hello some 30 or so blogs in my reader!) and with the world in general it’s a literal pain in the befreakinhind to read books from the computer. Let’s face it, even if my desktop is the only friend I interact with on a daily basis, limits must be set for my well-being.

SO, after that long-winded introduction, I present to you the new Kindle.

It’s sleek. It’s 17% lighter. Its battery life lasts up to one month. It can store up to 3,500 books! It’s WONDERFUL! What’s not to love about it? Nothing, that’s what. Especially if you’re hoarding ebooks like I am.

I’m sure it’s pretty obvious by now that writing has become an important part of my life. I’m by no means great at it, but it is my hope that by writing on this here blog I will get better and who knows, maybe even write a novel someday (complete with run-on sentences)? It’s why I’ve been trying as much as possible to join in on writing workshops like the ones Mama Kat and The Red Dress Club are hosting every week.

When I saw Keel’s Simple Diary featured in a magazine, I knew I had to have it. If you’ve ever maintained a blog or even a diary, you know how hard it is to come up with fodder every. Single. Day. This diary promises to engage my mind, and help me focus, possibly get the creative juices flowing. It isn’t your typical diary and I love that it comes in my favorite color!

From the time I spotted these photos on one of my favorite blogs to read by Nicole from By Word of Mouth I’ve wanted them printed on t-shirts. Or framed to hang on walls in our home-to-be. Because sometimes, your family just needs a clue. And maybe someone could throw in another housewife as a bonus, eh? I would never say no to that! Goodness knows I would be grateful to have someone who could help me keep our place spic and span. Having a tornado masquerading as a toddler around sure isn’t helping me in that department!

And last but definitely not the least – something that my heart’s been longing for, well, FOR YEARS. Something that I may never get – unless you, my awesome family and friends decide to pool all your money and get me this ridiculously exquisite WORK OF GENIUS. Drum roll, please!

THE MINI

In this color please, thank you very much!

No? Oh well, it was worth a shot. I might as well work on actually learning how to drive and getting my driver’s license first anyway.

Maybe next year?
